OUR HISTORY & LEGACY
A Century of Hospitality in Antigua Guatemala
Hotel Aurora is part of the history of Antigua Guatemala. As the city’s first hotel, our story spans more than a century of welcoming travelers to one of Guatemala’s most extraordinary destinations.
Generations of guests have passed through our doors, making Hotel Aurora a witness to the evolution of tourism and hospitality in Antigua. Within our historic walls, countless stories have unfolded — including an important chapter in Guatemala’s religious history, when the country’s first Cursillo de Cristiandad was held here from October 1–7, 1962.
Today, Hotel Aurora preserves the character, warmth, and tradition that have defined it for generations, while offering travelers the comfort and privileged location they expect from a stay in the heart of Antigua Guatemala. More than a place to sleep, Hotel Aurora is a living part of the city’s heritage.

What Our Guests Say About Hotel Aurora
A beautiful colonial house, very well maintained. We were surprised to find it was the oldest hotel there. The facilities were lovely, comfortable, and well-kept, and the staff was friendly and always willing to help. They have an interior courtyard with a charming garden. An unforgettable experience.

ClientOne of the best hotels we stayed at in Guatemala. It has air conditioning!!! A blessing. Spacious and clean rooms with all the essentials, very nice and well-maintained common areas. Friendly staff.
Camila Silva
ClientI loved this hotel; it was very quiet, clean, and centrally located. The location is perfect, and the receptionist was very friendly and recommended a great restaurant. The breakfast included in the reservation is very basic. In our case, we ordered a full breakfast and had to pay extra, but I think it was very good for the price of the hotel and the breakfast.

ClientBeautiful hotel with a gorgeous courtyard. Room was clean and spacious. Very fair pricing. Would highly recommend. The only room for improvement is the basic breakfast. (Traducido por Google) Hotel precioso con un patio encantador. La habitación estaba limpia y era espaciosa. Precio muy razonable. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente. Lo único que se podría mejorar es el desayuno básico.

ClientExcellent location, close to the Central Park and San Jose Cathedral, everything is within reach (you literally just walk outside the hotel) - lots of good rated restaurants, chocolate workshops, cafes, museums. The place looks amazing, with a nice green garden with Orchids, breakfast is very good and with goods choices for European taste, the room is large, comfortable with large beds, cleaning team does a great job everyday.

ClientLovely, they even kept our luggages during our acatenango hike and said we could shower after the hike!!

ClientVery nice, quiet, hotel with beautiful courtyard and friendly staff. Rooms are clean and well appointed. Hot water. Good water pressure. Air conditioning added in 2023. Not a lot of amenities - no fitness, spa - but what is there is perfect. Nice breakfast options. Within blocks of city center and anything that you might need (shopping, amazing restaurants, coffee, banks/ATM. Very safe. Highly recommended.

ClientThe service here goes above and beyond not to mention it’s central location and affordability plus security overall. The patio is a very ornate and relaxing or environment to lay back and read a book if you prefer to unwind and get away from the city. This place is also located far enough from the bar district that you will not hear any exterior noise, but it is also close enough to where it is a walking distance if you’re into that scene, but it still will not disrupt you from some restful sleep. Shout out to Carlos for the five star service of arranging a timely shuttle and getting our clothing washed in time plus early check-in.

ClientIf you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in the center of the city look no further. The check in was a breeze, the room was clean and comfortable. But that garden is where it's at. Relax in the evening with a glass of wine, enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, sit there and wait for your bus with a book. This hotel is a perfect spot to stay on your next trip to Antigua.
